Hey, I’m Daniel, and I’m the founder of Reforest Global.
The vision for this nonprofit began with a deep connection to nature and a sense of responsibility to protect it. I grew up in a small touristic town in Turkey, surrounded by forests. Nature was always a part of my life, but everything changed when devastating forest fires struck my hometown three years ago, leaving behind destruction and loss. Wanting to help, I joined my school’s environmental club, where I learned about the impact of reforestation. Together, we planted thousands of trees, and seeing the environment flourish again was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Knowing that I contributed to this restoration made me so happy that I wanted to expand my efforts beyond my hometown—to help my country as a whole.
That’s how Reforest Global was born. Through community-driven projects, we have planted thousands of trees, bringing life back to damaged landscapes. But I realized that reforestation isn’t just a local need—it’s a global one. If I could make a difference in my own community, someone from abroad could help restore other places in need as well. Now, I want to expand this effort to regions that need it most, like Los Angeles, where wildfires have severely impacted local ecosystems.
